What you are comparing
A monthly operator room against a two-part fixed course
AI SEO Rainmakers is a Skool membership run by Charles Floate and published by SEO.Stream. The public listing on 24 September 2026 showed $299 a month, 379 members and a 5.0 rating from 39 reviews, and stated that the next price step is $319 or more. The fee buys weekly live Q&A taught by the founder, an operator feed, published experiments with methodology, research reports, tools and repos, CharlesGPT 3.1, site audits and a private Dark Library. The full assessment is in our AI SEO Rainmakers review.
CXL's Optimize Pages for AI Search with GEO/AEO is a fixed course by Steve Toth sold as a one-time purchase at $299. The page describes a focused sprint that originally ran live and now ships as two recorded parts: how to optimize for AI search engines, and how to create AI search-ready content. The syllabus centers on comparison content that gets cited when buyers run deep research in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, auditing your presence across LLMs, and finding comparison content gaps. Our CXL course review covers the curriculum in detail.
Where they differ
Same sticker price, different purchase
The prices look identical for exactly one month. After that the CXL course has cost you $299 in total and Rainmakers has cost you $598, then $897, then $3,588 over a year at the current listing price. That is the whole comparison in one sentence: a curriculum purchase against a continuing-access purchase.
What the recurring fee buys that the fixed course cannot is time with people. CXL's page does not mention live support, a community, a certificate or an update schedule, so those are marked unverified rather than absent. Rainmakers advertises weekly live calls, direct replies in the feed and experiments published as they run. If your questions are about your own site and campaigns, that layer is the product. If your question is how to build pages that AI answers cite, the CXL sprint answers it once and you keep the recording. Our guide on matching price to support applies the same question to any course.
Depth of scope also differs. CXL's two parts stay on page-level optimization and comparison content. The Rainmakers listing spans the aggressive end of the field, including private plays kept off the public feed, which SEO.Stream openly describes as gray and black-hat material. A compliance-bound client team will be able to deploy all of the CXL material and only part of the Rainmakers material.
Decision frame
Choose the AI SEO course by delivery model, then by brand
Pick CXL if you want a defined syllabus on citation-ready pages, a fixed cost and no participation requirement. Pick Rainmakers if you already earn from SEO, will bring live campaigns to the weekly calls, and can deploy a repo or workflow in the first month. The seven-day money-back note on the Skool listing lets you check founder presence before the fee repeats. If neither the live calls nor the private material is something you will use, the fixed course is the better buy and the free vendor academies come before both.
